Stability

“And he shall be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water…”
from Psalm 1
“Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, forever.”
Hebrews 13:8

Today’s world offers little in the way of stability. From the prices at the pump and the fluctuation of the Dow to the attitude of disposability towards marriage and family, our societal foundations seem as unpredictable as Iowa weather. At Altoona Regular Baptist Church, we believe that God’s Word, the Bible, offers us a sure foundation to face any circumstance that may cross our path. The preaching, teaching and counseling ministries of our church reflect our confidence in the sufficiency of Scripture and faith in our unchanging Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to give us hope in a hopeless world.

Clarity

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:105
“In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:6

People live for diversions. Entertainment, alcohol, drugs, illicit sex, and other things the world offers cannot give satisfaction, but simply distract one from dwelling on the emptiness within. God has given us direction and purpose in His Word, which is the only way we can receive true fulfillment, both in this life and in eternity. If you are tired of the empty diversions and distractions of this life, Altoona Regular Baptist Church can help.

The timeless truths of Scripture apply in every area of life Consistency

“…the word of the Lord endureth for ever.”
I Peter 1:25b

The trend in many churches of the day is to adapt their worship to a more “modern style.” Altoona Regular Baptist Church is not one of these churches. Without apology, we strive to be a church consistently committed to the preaching of Christ and the teachings of Scripture. While others seek to entertain, we seek to edify the Christian and evangelize the lost with the power of God to change lives. Our music is not shocking, scintillating, seductive, or scheming, but is sung to honor and glorify the Savior without the contrivances and clutter of the “contemporary sound.” We do not attempt to build self-esteem, but instead equip individuals to “fear God, and keep His commandments.” (Ecclesiastes 12:13)

Maturity

“…that ye may grow thereby…”
I Peter 2:2

Our goal is to train people from every age and walk of life to be better servants for ChristOur desire is to be known as a teaching church. We offer classes in our Sunday School for the smallest child to the senior saint. Our adult classes are diverse, seeking to address the needs of individuals by interest, age and stage of life. On Wednesday nights our church offers Patch the Pirate Clubs for preschoolers through teens. Patch club offers children an opportunity to hear stories and lessons that will reinforce the truths of Scripture in their lives. Ministries for youth and college-age young people help solidify Godly principles. The Wednesday night prayer meeting and Bible study is a time of church wide challenge and renewal for all ages.
